Media release: Property leasing lawyer Darren Vance joins KCL Law

Jan 25, 2018

KCL Law is delighted to announce the appointment of leasing specialist Darren Vance as Special Counsel in the firm’s Property practice, effective 8 January 2018.

Darren brings to the firm over 12 years’ experience and knowledge in all areas of commercial, retail and industrial leasing. He has advised both landlords and tenants across Australia (and New Zealand) on all manner of issues, including lease incentives, make-good obligations, limitation of liability, and transfers and development-related issues.

Darren’s past experience includes working for a number of national law firms — including Thomson Geer and HWL Ebsworth Lawyers — where he acted for a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from private land-owners and self-managed super funds through to corporate and major institutional landlords. During this time, he also extensively acted for private and corporate commercial tenants; major national and multi-national retail brands and industrial tenants.

Mark Yaskewych, Principal Lawyer and Head of KCL Law’s Property team said, “Darren is an exciting addition to the firm’s Property team. His depth of knowledge in relation to all types of lease transactions and relevant Australia-wide legislative regimes and requirements will ensure our existing property clients’ leasing needs are met with quality advice, and the firm’s property leasing practice will grow further.

“Since the firm was established in 1981, the firm has been recognised for its quality property and leasing advice. I am confident that Darren’s appointment will continue to build on the firm’s reputation in this area.”

Darren joins an established team of property lawyers, including Accredited Property Law Specialist and founder of the firm, Geoff Kliger. Darren’s focus will be entirely on lease and tenancy-related transactions advice, and dispute resolution in relation to lease-related matters.
